In early July 2020, a brush fire in Niland destroyed over 40 homes leaving most of these families without a place to live.

Work Performed:
HomeAid San Diego connected Imperial County and the Calipatria-Niland Resource Center with nonprofits that could offer additional hotel vouchers. Once HomeAid San Diego learned the families were moving into temporary housing, our organization donated bedding, towels and grocery story gift cards to over 21 families to help them as they moved out of hotels.
