Community Engagement
In addition to our building and remodeling projects, HomeAid reaches out to meet the immediate needs of San Diego families and individuals experiencing homeless and the organizations that assist them. Every year we work to provide dignity and restore hope through various community engagement programs, including:
HomeAid Care Kits
HomeAid ‘Care Kits’ is a community outreach initiative that brings together donors and volunteers to create and distribute ‘Care Kits’ to homeless individuals and families.
The ‘Care Kits’ are reflective cinch backpacks for the homeless that are filled with essential hygiene products, water, food items, socks, and 2-1-1 resource cards that connect them to available services throughout the county.
A kit is much more than the amenities inside…it’s about providing hope and a hand up.

HomeAid Care Days
HomeAid Care Days is an opportunity for local businesses to provide hands on support like painting, landscaping and hardscaping to current projects for nonprofits in the area. Whether your employees have 2 hours or a full day, we can set up a community engagement event that helps our community thrive and helps to build teamwork.
Homelessness Awareness Month
Conducted annually during the month of November, HomeAid engages the community in advocating and building awareness through an effective ’30 Ways in 30 Days’ calendar to get the community involved and giving back.
